Lip Blush

Lip Blush: Effortless Color, Beautiful Definition

It is a semi-permanent procedure that enhances the natural color and shape of your lips, giving them a fuller and more defined look. Using a gentle tattooing technique, it provides a soft, natural tint, corrects asymmetry, and adds definition. Lips will fade up to 70% in the process of healing.

And on the touch up, you can add the color and improve the shape to obtain an impeccable result.

The results last 1-3 years, with recommended touch-ups to maintain the color.

First Step: Outline

The first step in the lip blush procedure is outlining and shaping the lips. During this step, I will carefully map out the desired lip shape based on your preferences, ensuring symmetry and a natural-looking result. The outline is drawn to define the contours of your lips, enhancing their shape and creating a perfect canvas for the color application.

Second step: Color application

The next step in the lip blush procedure is the color application. Once the outline and shape are finalized, I will apply the chosen pigment to your lips using a fine, specialized tattooing technique. The color is gently deposited in layers to achieve a soft, natural tint that enhances your lips’ natural hue. I will carefully blend the pigment to ensure even coverage and a smooth, seamless result. The application is done gradually to build the desired intensity and ensure a beautiful, customized finish.

Pre-Procedure Recommendations

  • Avoid taking aspirin or consuming excessive alcohol at least 48 hours before and after your procedure.
  • Do not take any prescription blood thinners 48 hours before and after the procedure.
  • Refrain from getting fillers in the treatment area within two weeks of the procedure.
  • Do not drink coffee on the morning of your appointment.
  • If you have existing permanent makeup on your lips, please contact me before booking your appointment.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, lip blushing may trigger outbreaks, potentially affecting pigment retention. We recommend consulting with your doctor about anti-viral medication to prevent outbreaks. Lip blushing can still be done; we just want to ensure the best results. If you have an outbreak or any open wounds (like scratches or acne), please reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.

What to avoid

  • Avoid spicy and salty foods.
  • Do not use soaps, cleansers, creams, or makeup on the treated area.
  • Avoid facial treatments, waxing, and any form of bleach on the treated area.
  • Stay away from abrasive products, rough towels, or similar items.
  • Do not touch or pick at any small scabs that may form after the treatment. Allow them to naturally slough off to ensure proper pigment retention.
  • Avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, saltwater, and any direct shower spray on the treated area. If the area gets wet, gently pat it dry with a tissue.
  • Refrain from sunbathing and tanning beds.
  • Avoid teeth whitening until your lips are fully healed.
  • Stay clear of swimming pools, oceans, hot tubs, saunas, and hot, steamy showers for at least 10 days.
  • For the first week, avoid dirt (such as gardening) and excessive sweating (like at the gym) to prevent infection.
  • Don’t be alarmed if pigment comes off onto a Q-tip when applying aftercare ointment.
  • Don’t be concerned if the color fades after the first application. The final color can only be accurately assessed 2 weeks after the procedure.

After Care

  • Day of the Procedure: Swelling may occur. In the first few days, you might experience swelling, bruising, dryness, tingling, and tenderness. Your lips will be sensitive right after the procedure. It’s recommended to only eat foods you can consume with a fork without touching your lips.
  • Day 1-7: Gently cleanse the treated area daily with mild warm water and a non-alcoholic soap, then blot it dry using patting motions. Do not scrub, rub, wipe, or scratch. After drying, apply the aftercare ointment to the clean, dry treated area.
  • Day 1-14: Keep your lips moisturized at all times using the aftercare product. After approximately 3 weeks, once the scabs have healed, stop using the aftercare product. Start applying a lip-appropriate sunblock to protect the pigment, along with a nourishing lip balm.
