The Whole Lip Neutralization Process
This process is not a one-step process. Rather, it is a series of sessions that progressively progresses toward the desired outcome. This is how it operates:
First Session: Neutralization Starts
Correcting the current lip tone is the only goal of this first session.
🧪 Undertone Assessment: I’ll assess your lips to identify the predominant undertone, which could be brown, purple, or blue.
🎨 Pigment Selection: To eliminate the undesirable undertones, a color from the opposite side of the color wheel is selected.
For instance, we might apply a yellow-orange pigment if your lips are purplish in color. The pigment in the cap may seem golden, but when it is applied to the tissue, it will take on a warm coral-pink hue.
💉 Saturation Process: I’ll evenly and completely apply the neutralizing pigment. For this step to successfully brighten and change the base tone, there must be a high level of pigment saturation.
🕒 Healing Expectation: Lips may look bright at first (like coral or neon orange), but they will eventually fade. A lighter, more even base will show through the soft, warm pink that develops as they heal.
Recovery Following the First Session
This is an example of a normal healing timeline:
Day 1–2: Lips could appear bright or neon (orange or coral). This is typical.
Day 3–5: Lips start to peel and get chapped. Don’t scrub or pick.
Day 6–7: A delicate shade of pink starts to emerge.
Color settles and balances in weeks two through six. As the skin regenerates, some patchiness may appear.
Weeks 8–10: Real healing outcomes start to show.

Second Session: Improving Color
Depending on how well your lips have healed, one of two things will occur at your second appointment:
To fine-tune the base tone, another neutralization pass might be required. ✔️ Colorizing starts with pink, coral, or red hues, depending on the outcome you want.
We can gradually progress to a more vivid, lifelike shade now that the lips have been lightened.
Third Session (If Required): Last Touch of Perfection
While some clients benefit from a third session, particularly if their natural lip color is very dark, not all clients need one.
This meeting could include:
Last-minute color adjustments
Evening out areas where pigment didn’t hold
Boosting vibrancy
